Last Minute Gift For a Little Girl

I got a last minute invite to my best friends granddaughters birthday party. Not wanting to turn up empty handed I headed to my craft room and made some cute hair accessories and a really cute way to present them.

For me this was a scrap/things I had on hand project so it was really inexpensive.

First I took some headbands I had and some huge pink flowers. I cut the flowers off the stem and glued them to a felt circle. Then I cut another felt circle and sandwiched the headband between. Easiest flower headband ever!

Next I took some of the little felt bows that I made here. I cut a strip of tulle 2” by 18”, used a running stitch, you can do it either by hand or machine. I pulled the thread and gathered the tulle, it curved nicely into a circle that I them glued to a little felt circle. You could use an additional layer of tulle for even more puffiness. Then I hot glued one of the felt bows on top of the tulle circle.

To get this to adhere to the hair clip I cut a strip of felt a little bit wider than the hair clip and twice as long. I sandwiched the top of the clip between the felt and then glued the bow and tulle to it.

So fast and easy and the girls loved them. I didn’t have any gift bags so I cut a piece of scrapbook paper into a rectangle and rounded the corners. Then I cut a little slit in the top to clip the hair clip on and two little slits at the bottom that I threaded ribbon through to hang the headband from, gluing the ribbon to the back of the paper.

Then I used paper in another pattern and cut out the first letter of each girls name. In about twenty minutes I had two adorable hair accessories for each girl and really cute way to present them.
