It’s been a great week in the LDS Family Blog! I hope you enjoyed reading as much as Miriam and I enjoyed writing!
Gospel Doctrine: This upcoming weekend is stake conference for our stake. Instead of my regular lesson-oriented scripture study, I’m hitting the topical guide for phrases that have peaked my interest. Since they don’t particularly relate, I have simply included them in the day-to-day summary.
Monday, May 14th: In Dinner Discussions 2007 Week 17, we reviewed the topics covered at church last week. In Serving Sisters in Primary and Young Women, we talked about how we as sisters in Relief Society can care for and support those who are unable to attend the third meeting. In Delve Deeper Into the Scriptures, we learned five ways to make the most of our scripture study. And in General Conference: “I Know That My Redeemer Lives!”, we summarized President Monson’s talk of the same name.
May 15th: In Giving Your Money Away, we talked about how much more we can help out financially when we get rid of our debts. In Primary Time: Summer Activities, we discussed some ways to keep children busy and happy over the summer vacation. In A True and Valiant Heart, we talked about what it meant to have a heart that was true to the Lord. In Relief Society: Welcoming Young Women, we discussed how to help encourage Young Women graduates to attend Relief Society meetings. And in Family, we talked about how being part of a family affects each of us.
May 16th: In “Seek Ye Out of the Best Books”, we talked about being spiritually uplifted by books written by those not of our faith. In Young Women: Divine Nature, we focused on the next quality of young women as they work towards their Personal Progress. And in Church Schools, we examined LDS schools and why we want our kids to attend.
May 17th: In Resources For Your Calling, we looked at some great helps for doing the Lord’s work. In Get Off My Bench!, we enjoyed some creative, humorous ways to get people out of our seat at church. Use these at your own risk! In Creative Dating, we looked at some fun group dating options.
May 18th: In General Conference From the Past: Spit and Mud and Kigatsuku, we examined the talk of the same name given by Sister Chieko N. Okazaki in April 1992.
May 19th: In An Honest Heart, we talked about how to cultivate this desirable quality. In Building Family Unity, we talked about ways to grow closer as a family. And in Why Do We Have Ward Activities?, we talked about some great things we do with our ward family, and the reasons for doing them.
