Too busy this holiday season to visit us here in LDS? Not to worry – the Week in Review will help you catch up on the things you missed.
In “Christmas Angels Drive Comcast Trucks,” Tristi tells of seeing a man in a truck tow some stranded shoppers off a patch of ice, reminding us to take the time to notice the needs of others and do what we can to help. “Finding Gratitude” shares ways to stay focused on our blessings during the stress and chaos of the holiday season, including writing our blessings down in our journals. “Mourn with Those that Mourn” helps us find ways to comfort and encourage those who are suffering grief.
We continue the Scripture Study series with 1 Nephi 13:20-29 and 1 Nephi 13:30-35, and “Winter and the Word of Wisdom” discusses how our dietary needs change as our bodies strive to stay warmer in the cold weather.
“Provident Living: Applying Principles of Self-Reliance and Preparedness” continues our look back at the Spencer W. Kimball lessons for the year, as do “Integrity” and “Obedience Born of Faith in God.”
Miriam talks to us about the importance of examples in “Lead Your Family,” and gets us thinking about the upcoming year in “Plan Now for Summer Activities.” She also helps us understand the calling of “Emergency Preparedness Coordinator.”
What should we do if we can’t attend church for one reason or another? “When Church is Cancelled” encourages us to create a spiritual experience at home for our families. “New Year’s Resolution: Family History” gives us great ideas for our New Year’s goals – let’s make 2008 the year we get a jump start on our genealogy. We can also set the goal to “Growing Spiritually” with these insightful ideas, and to strengthen “Your Marriage” as well.
We’ve been given the charge to safeguard our homes. In “Protecting Our Families,” we learn more about this crucial assignment.
It’s been a great week here in LDS. We hope you’ll be able to join us again, and in the meantime, Happy New Year!
