Every time I think things are going to slow down, they just get busier! If you’ve had that kind of week too and were unable to join us here in LDS, that’s okay. Here’s a quick summary to get you back to speed.
In “Free Agency in Children,” we recognize that our children will become old enough to start making their own choices and either receiving the reward or the consequence, and we need to allow them to learn from their mistakes. “Dinner Discussions Week 6” outlines the lessons taught in our various church classes, and “A Personal Relationship with the Holy Ghost” examines the need to live our lives in such a way that we can merit the constant companionship of this third member of the Godhead.
“The Ten Lines of Defense” are wonderful safeguards we can put up in our own home to keep our family units strong. Our families are, of course, built upon a strong foundation that is the marriage between the husband and wife, and as we strengthen that foundation, the rest falls into place.
Have you ever wondered why Mormon teenagers don’t date until they’re sixteen? Tristi explains why. In “Those Who Die Without Hearing the Gospel,” she also talks about the plan of salvation and how no one will be punished for the things they don’t know.
In “Eternal Valentines,” we examine the importance of the temple sealing and realize the blessings that are ours through those sacred ordinances. We also learn the importance of understanding God’s word, and how that understanding will keep us from murmuring.
We continued our Scripture Study series with 1 Nephi 14:8-12, and we ended the week with Miriam’s “Balancing Your Needs with Your Family’s Needs,” in which she discusses the dilemma faced by many mothers as they struggle to balance their self care with the ever-pressing needs of their family.
We hope you enjoyed our week in review, and hope you’ll be able to join us again soon here in LDS.
