We had a great week in LDS. What to see what we’ve been up to?
We started out the week with “Thinking about My Dad.” Tristi’s parents divorced when she was a teenager, but through that divorce, Tristi gained a closer relationship with her father and can now see the positive in that situation.
We kept up-to-date with our lessons with this week’s “Dinner Discussions,” and we were reminded of the amazing power of music to set the tone in our environment in “Music at Home.” We then discussed the effect lyrics have on us and our children in “Not-So-Lyrical Lyrics.”
“Primary Time: Remember to Use the Friend” reminds us of the wonderful tools we’ve been given to supplement our lessons at church and at home, and what a great resource The Friend magazine can be.
This time of year, our high school seniors graduate and prepare to head off to college. In “Sending Your Daughter to College,” Miriam discusses how to prepare our daughters for this major life change and encourage them to stay active in church when they’re living on their own.
“The Journey” is an LDS young adult novel that dramatizes the journey each of us took from our pre-mortal life down to earth and the effects our choices will make on our progression. A must-read for all young women.
Physical limitations are part of our earth-life experience, but they don’t have to keep us from fulfilling our missions and finding joy. “Accepting Chronic Illness” shows us ways we can continue to move forward even when we don’t have the health we would like to have.
Our Latter-day Hymns series continues with “Reverently and Meekly Now,” the only hymn in our current hymnbook written from the Savior’s perspective about His atonement.
We completed our Ten Commandments series with “The Tenth Commandment,” and we ended up the week with another installment in our Senior Missionary series, “What to Wear,” which outlines the clothing guidelines given to missionaries as they prepare to enter the mission field.
We hope you enjoyed this week in review, and that you’ll be able to join us again soon here in LDS.
