LDS Week in Review – March 31st – April 5th

If you weren’t able to join us here in LDS this week, do not despair! Here’s a listing of all the blogs posted throughout the week so you can get caught up.

We began our week with “Food Storage . . . in a Trailer?” Tristi looked into unusual places to store food and the ways in which we can keep this important commandment even when we’re short on space.

Choosing Not to Take Offense” reminds us that while we can’t choose the things others may say to us, we can certainly choose how we will react to them and if we’ll retaliate or forgive.

Our “Sharing Time” theme for the month of April is “I Will Follow the Prophet,” which is particularly poignant at this time when we welcome a new prophet at the head of the Church.

Our First Presidency Message and also our Home Teaching Message is “Treasure of Eternal Value.” President Monson encourages us to think more on lasting treasure than we do on silver and gold, and teaches us that we can attain this lasting treasure by being willing to learn from the past.

“Marriage Between a Man and a Woman is Ordained of God” is the Visiting Teaching message for April. With quotes from our ordained authorities, we learn that Heavenly Father organized marriage in an inspired way for our greatest happiness.

Miriam encourages us to keep up with our goals on “Getting Back on Track.” We all lose momentum from time to time, but that doesn’t mean we have to quit.

We continue the Scripture Study series with 1 Nephi 15:12-19, and in “The Search for Eternal Youth,” we are reminded that we don’t need to seek the Fountain of Youth to have eternal life – we have eternal life through the promises of the Savior.

In “Making Your Family Your Focus,” Miriam reminds us of the motivational talk given by Sister Julie B. Beck about the importance of defending our families.

In “Doctor Visits,” Tristi continues the Senior Missionary Series by discussing the doctor visits you’ll need to schedule in order to prepare for your mission.

Focus on Food Storage” encourages us to keep our storage as a high priority and to start small and build up from there. And, believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about summer activities.

We should also “Focus on the Temple.” So many of us live a short distance from a temple – we should not let anything keep us away from it.

Thanks for joining us for our week in review, and we hope to see you again soon here in LDS.
