Welcome to our Week in Review, where we summarize the week’s blogs and help keep you on top of all the latest doings here in LDS.
We started the week with a look at “Preach My Gospel,” a learning aid that is given to missionaries entering the field, and that we as members also have access to. We can be missionaries wherever we are, and this piece of curriculum can help prepare us for that.
Miriam spoke of the power the Gospel has to help us make and keep friendships throughout our lives, and also of the March 2008 Sharing Time Theme, which is “Jesus Christ is My Savior.” Tristi shared an experience of answered prayer, and shared her perspectives on what it means to be a worldwide church.
Lesson #4 in our Joseph Smith manual is entitled “The Book of Mormon – Keystone of our Religion,” and we learn how without the Book of Mormon, we would not have a fullness of our Heavenly Father’s plan for us. In “What is Priestcraft?” we get a more in-depth definition of the term and learn how we can avoid practicing it.
In “Reflections of Christ,” Tristi shares her experience of traveling to the Mesa Temple Visitors Center and seeing the photographic display currently on exhibit there. Miriam shares her thoughts on how to keep prayer from becoming rushed or mundane in her blog, “Purpose in Prayer.”
The First Presidency Message for this month is “We Testify of Jesus Christ,” taken from an Ensign devoted entirely to speaking of the divinity of our Savior. The Visiting Teaching Message is ours to choose among the many wonderful articles found in this month’s issue, and we see a brief summary of several possibilities.
In addition to our Ensign this month, we received a beautiful booklet honoring President Hinckley. It begins by speaking of his missionary service and includes a print-out of all the lovely talks given at his funeral service.
In “March 2008 Preparedness Goals,” we learn that this week was National Procrastination Week. I would have celebrated, but I was too busy and will have to do it later. In “Finding Contentment without Complacency,” Miriam spoke of her preparation to teach the lessons given by Sister Beck and the kernels of truth she most enjoyed.
“Why is God Doing This to Me?” Instead of asking this question, Tristi shares ideas for how to focus on the greater good of the trials we experience. We close the week with “Is Your Family Important to You?” and hear Miriam’s perspectives on how we can keep our loved ones front and center at all times.
We hope you enjoyed this brief recap. See you soon here in LDS!
