Lego Clearance – Some more than 75% off

My kids have been playing with Legos for as long as I can remember. When I was playing with them, they were red, white, or blue, and they were all pretty much the same shape. I’m amazed now at the different things they can make. Last night at Boy Scouts, one of the kids had the Lego Viking Chess Set. It was beautiful! A little out of my budget, but a very nice piece of art in addition to being functional.

Legos are great because they all fit together, regardless of the set. That means grandparents can be confident that the set they buy will work with what the child already has. It also means that sets don’t have to all be purchased at once. Since we are a Lego family, I keep my eye out for sales. It kills me to pay retail for anything, especially toys. If you’re like me in that respect, you’ll be happy to know that they’re having a huge clearance sale.

The very best deal is on Quatro. Quatro is Lego’s beginner line. Even before their little hands are ready to build with Duplos, they can manage the Quatro blocks. These are for the toddlers, and they’re large enough that there is no choking concern. For this sale, the starter set is marked down from $7.99 to .99. That’s a stock-up price for birthdays down the line, or for a church nursery, or Mom’s group.

For the 3-6 crowd (or older – my 11 year old is still enjoying her Duplos), the Duplo Knight’s Castle is marked down 50% to $40. My teens’ favorites are the Tic-Tac-Toe set that comes with 10 minifigs marked down to $6 (from $20) and the Royal Kings’ Castle (to $50 from $100). Lego shipping is inexpensive at $5.95 per order.

At these prices, this is a very good time to be thinking about Christmas or just stocking the gift closet.
