Lemonade Recipes
It’s already mid-summer hot in some parts of the country, and nothing tastes as good on a hot day as fresh lemonade. The basic lemonade recipe is 1 cup fresh lemon juice, 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup of water, but there are many other ways to make lemonade. Here is my collection of recipes, all of them delicious, whether you have fresh lemons or not. I don’t think you can beat lemonade made with a simple syrup as in the first recipe, but if time is a factor, you might want to try one of the others.
Best Lemonade
1 3/4 cups sugar
8 cups water
1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
Combine the sugar and 1 cup of the water. Bring to a boil while stirring so sugar dissolves. Cool the syrup and then store in the refrigerator.
To make the lemonade, combine the syrup, lemon juice and 7 cups of water in a pitcher and stir well. Add a little more sugar if it is too tart.
Quick Lemonade
Juice from 10 medium lemons
2 cups sugar
1 quart water
Combine all the ingredients in a pitcher and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add more sugar if needed. Serve over crushed ice.
Easy Strawberry Lemonade
1 (6 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup water
2 cups ice cubes
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until pureed.
Raspberry Lemonade Punch
1 (12 oz) can frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate
3 cups water
12 ounces lemon-lime soda
1 1/2 cups crushed ice
Fresh raspberries for garnish
Combine the water and concentrate in a punch bowl and mix together well. Add the lemon-lime soda and crushed ice just before serving. Float the raspberries on the top for garnish.
