Let’s Talk About April

Good morning, welcome to our last day of March here at the Fitness Blog and whew, we blew into March like a lion with all these plans and we’re slinking out like a lamb with only a few of those plans seen to fruition. We took a bit of a break in March and though it was unexpected, to be honest, I needed it and I reaped a great benefit from the break because I was able to relax and really recuperate from my surgery.

So, for those of you who may have been looking forward to some of the challenges that didn’t get off the ground in March, I have some good news for you – we are going to give ourselves another shot this April.

Spring Forward to Action Challenge

Originally planned to coincide with rolling the clocks forward in March, we’re going to give ourselves a spring advantage of April and more light during the day. Easter is a time of renewal and celebration, so April 9th, we’ll launch our Spring Forward to Action Challenge and I can share with you exercise tips, an exercise plan and a goal to get ourselves rolling forward and ready for summer sports, swimming or maybe just keeping up with the kids.

Spring Cleaning – Body & Mind

Originally planned for Spring Equinox on March 21, we’ll be doing some spring cleaning articles throughout April, designed to cleaning out our mental and physical blocks as well as rebuilding our motivation and giving ourselves some new tools for getting over the hurdles or removing the obstacles altogether.

The old adage is March winds and April showers bring May flowers and this is an adage because that’s about right for the this time of year. In fact, here in the local area, we’ve actually gotten some rain and it’s really needed here, we were in a drought all last year and winter didn’t bring us much more rain, so we’re hoping for lots and lots of April showers. So be prepared in all of the above for lots of indoor tips along with some gardening suggestions because you can get a good workout in your garden even as you are doing maintenance and spring planting and more.
