Letting Spring into Your Home and Your Life

When the season changes and becomes spring, it is an opportunity to let new things into your home and into your life. Here are some ways to bring a sense of renewal to the place where you live. Your whole family will notice the difference.

The first place to start is to open the windows and let all of air fresh spring air into home. It is a great way to welcome the new time and will help you physically and emotionally, not to mention airing our your home and releasing all of the stale smells.

Next bring some more spring into your home with fresh flowers. Of course you could purchase them for your home, but get even more of a spring renewal by taking a hike around your neighborhood or in your region to collect some wildflowers.

Do a personal spring cleaning by taking a look at all of the commitments you have both in and out of your home. Writing everything down on paper will help you see how much time things cost you. Are some of your activities really worth the time they take away from your family? Decide to trim activities that don’t add any satisfaction. If your time is taken up with household projects, consider hiring someone else to complete jobs for you.

Renew closets, shelves, desks and more to bring the simplicity and promise of spring into your home. Looking at a cluttered closet filled with clothes that you don’t fit or don’t like is not refreshing. Neither is having to clean clutter that doesn’t add anything to your life.

While winter is a time to hunker down and hibernate, spring is a time to expand and be light and free. Get the winter things put away quickly and bring out the light, bright comforters, clothing and art.
