In case you haven’t noticed lately, Lindsay Lohan has been hanging out with popular Los Angeles DJ Samantha Ronson. The two have been almost inseparable for the past year or so. However, for months now, there has been speculation that Lohan and Ronson are more than friends.
The two showed for the party on Diddy’s yacht at Cannes last week. They were affectionate all night, holding hands. Some say, like Lindsay’s mom, says they are just close friends. In fact, Dina, in a PEOPLE interview, called Samantha a sweetheart and said, “She’s great – and she’s the best spinner around.” In fact, Dina is friend with Samantha’s mom, writer Ann Dexter-Jones.
Yet, it seems that Lindsay’s dad is spinning a whole different story about the relationship. He said that the romantic relationship between the two is “evident to anyone with half a brain.” Well, all I know is I have several girlfriends who are best friends and we rarely if ever hold hands and kiss, even on the cheek.
Dad Michael went on to say this type of behavior is something he would rather not know about, just like Lindsay’s semi-nude poses as Marilyn Moore for a magazine earlier this year. Michael told Us Magazine “Just like the Marilyn Monroe spread, Linds is my daughter and there are just some things a father doesn’t want to see or hear, regardless of whether they are true or false.” He went on to say his daughter “is a big girl, and she can make her own life choices. Then it is between her and God.”
Still, with photos emerging of Lindsay and Samantha kissing at Cannes, there are rumors now that the two will get married in California now that the ban has been lifted. Lindsay has even been photographed wearing a ring with the initials “SR,” supposedly a shout out to Ronson. Lindsay’s publicist Leslie Sloane denied the reports, saying, “This is gross. She is not a bad girl. Leave her alone.” When Dina was asked about the engagement, she merely said, “If she’s happy, I’m happy,” Dina says. “That’s all I’ll say.”
I can’t help but think that a lesbian relationship would be bad news for Lindsay’s career, but then her career has been going straight in the dumper for the last year or two anyhow.
