Most of the overlooked attractions that I mentioned in my previous two blogs were free, but there are some little goodies, lots of tasty treats, that are worth their cost! Here are a few of those odds and ends!
At Aloha Isle, you can get Dole Whips, which are a nearly famous Disney treat, a pineapple and frozen yogurt concoction. In the Enchanted Grove in Fantasyland, you can get the Strawberry Swirl, with is a super tasty treat! It’s made with strawberries that are twirled in non fat vanilla yogurt! In Adventureland, in the Sunshine Tree Terrace, you can get a Citrus version in Orange flavor!
We all know that you will see lots of different character actors, who blend with their various lands’ themes, and a lot of them are not published in the guide maps or times guide, but you can usually find out about these appearances from a Cast Member or Guest Relations. You might meat Gold Dust Gus, Mayor Weaver, or Marshal Jack Dalton!
One attraction that is OFTEN overlooked is the Electric Water Pageant. This takes places on the Seven Seas Lagoon in front of the Magic Kingdom, usually about 9pm. Each of the barges carries a huge screen of lights, and they are lead by Neptune, and a string of his aquatic subjects, and the conclusion of this parade is a patriotic salute, and the score is enough to make even Sousa proud!
Try to take some time to explore these lovely little things! They are a great way to really make your experience different, and magical. These things are all the result of hard work from Disney’s Imagineers, and are well worth seeing when you visit! You could even take a notebook and try and see who in your group can spot the most Hidden Mickeys throughout the parks! They’re everywhere, so be on the lookout!
