Live Like Longoria

Did you watch the season premiere of “Desperate Housewives” last night? I remember the first season the show was on the air. It didn’t take long for it to become one of the most popular series on television and subsequently skyrocket the actresses who play the “housewives” to international fame.

The media hawks the women of Wisteria Lane on and off the set. By now I am sure you know that Marcia Cross (who plays uptight Bree Van De Camp) is not only a newlywed, in real life, but is also pregnant with twins; that months ago, Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer) briefly hooked up with “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest; that Nicollette Sheridan (Edie Britt) reunited with (and is now engaged to) long time love, singer Michael Bolton; and that Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo) is married to award winning actor William H. Macy.

So, that leaves us with the Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis). Currently, the lovely Longoria is not only making headlines by remaining in a steady relationship with NBC basketball star, Tony Parker but she is also making time to raise money for her favorite charity. Longoria recently gathered a bunch of her friends to help with an online auction benefiting Padres Contra El Cancer (Parents Against Cancer), which is “committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families.”

The best part: you can get in on the action. The online auction is now open and is accepting bids through October 10th. Up for bid: a walk-on role on “Desperate Housewives,” and a day spent living like Longoria. So how does an ordinary housewife live like Lonogria? By spending time with her glam squad, of course. If the price is right you will spend the day shopping spree with stylist extraordinaire Robert Verdi, get made over by makeup artist Elan Bongiorno, or get your hair transformed by Ken Paves (he tames Longoria’s and Jessica Simpson’s tresses). Other items up for auction include: a trip to see American Idol, batting practice with L.A. Dodger Nomar Garciaparra, and Longoria’s Emmy presenter gift basket.
