Lohan Calls Out Bynes in a Tweet

Call it a case of Disney vs. Nickelodeon, even if on the smallest of scales. Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes, most famous for “All That” and “The Amanda Show,” has had multiple run-ins with the police lately.

The 26-year-old sideswiped a police car of all things on April 6th. She was released but later charged with DUI for refusing a breathalyzer test. Then, April 10th, she was involved in a hit-and-run. On August 4th, she rear-ended another motorist. She stopped briefly, but I guess thinking there was no damage, she left. But, there was damage and it turned out to be hit-and-run offense number 2 for Bynes.

The California DMV suspended her license on September 6th, but that didn’t keep Bynes off the road. Last Sunday, she was pulled over by the Bob Hope Airport police. When they realized she was driving on a suspended license, they impounded her car.

To make matters worse (as if they could be!), TMZ published photos of the young actress in her car, smoking from what appears to be a marijuana pipe.

All this has not gone unnoticed by someone who knows a lot about being a teen star then running into trouble with the law – Lindsay Lohan.

Lohan, who was recently in the news in August for a reported jewelry theft, has apparently been reading about Bynes in the news because this morning she tweeted “Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” In case you forgot, Lohan served 14 days in jail in 2010 for missing alcohol education classes. She was also sentenced to serve 120 days in 2011 for jewelry theft, but due to overcrowding, she did her time under house arrest.

A friend of Bynes’ reportedly said the actress told her she hated being compared to Lohan because she hasn’t “been arrested for drugs or chasing someone.”

I hate to state the obvious, but it seems to me that despite Lohan spending a few days in jail, it hasn’t helped her much.
