Look Fabulous in Under a Minute

You don’t have to spend hours in front of a mirror to look fabulous… here are some quick tricks that won’t cost much, either.

  1. You can hide raccoon eyes with the right color of eye shadow. Rich, dark colors create depth above the eye — distracting attention from bags underneath. Light, sparkly eye shadow colors can actually make bags more prominent.
  2. Another good way to keep attention off those dark circles under your eyes is to play up another feature entirely. Try a bright, flattering lipstick to draw attention away from raccoon eyes.
  3. Use a bronzer to make your face look slimmer. A brush of bronze just underneath your cheekbones can give the illusion of slimness.
  4. Give your arms quick definition — do twenty or thirty reps of a strength training exercise before you leave the house. The work will send blood rushing to the muscles and leave you looking more defined for the next few hours.
  5. This makeup artist trick will make applying mascara easier and neater: bend the brush end of the mascara wand at a 45 degree angle. (Use a tissue to keep your hand clean while you do it.) This will let you coat your lashes and not smudge mascara around your eyes!
  6. A coral colored lipstick can make your teeth look brighter. Coral pink is flattering to many different skin tones, too.
  7. Make your lips look more defined without a lip liner — outline your mouth with a little concealer to make your pucker-upper look full and defined.
  8. A little spritz of hairspray can tame wild wisps of hair when you’re looking for a sleek style. Spray a bit on the spine of your comb, then gently run it over loose hairs.
  9. A light-hold hairspray can dry out greasy hair if you don’t have time for a shower. Spritz a bit on your roots and the hairspray will help dry up the oil.
  10. Sudden breakout? Head for the freezer. Apply ice for thirty seconds to decrease inflammation around the pimple. Next dab a bit of hydrocortisone on the zit to make blood vessels contract — that will minimize redness. Add concealer if you like and you’re ready to go!
