While some home – based professionals decide to go the route of owning and operating their own home – based businesses, the road to home – based success for others involves finding a great home – based job. There are great home – based jobs out there just waiting to be filled by the right people. Of course, you will have to investigate each opportunity thoroughly to ensure that it is legitimate, but the time and effort that you spend doing that research until you find just the right home – based job is well worth it.
The original job postings for most home – based jobs are scattered across the internet. There is a web site called FlexJobs which enables job seekers to find these job listings more easily. While FlexJobs users do pay a monthly fee, there are certain things that users get in return that go beyond just being able to access many listings in one place as opposed to trying to find all of them individually. For example, there are jobs in a wide range of categories as well as jobs that are not actively advertised as telecommuting jobs. Also, the jobs that FlexJobs users see listed on the site have been pre-screened so that scams are filtered out.
As with anything, there are a few things about FlexJobs that are not so great. The monthly fee can be as high as $15.00, if you choose to pay monthly instead of on a three month or one year membership plan. Also, the job categories overlap quite a bit and can be a little confusing. Fortunately you can get around that by checking the site frequently and looking at the newest jobs in all of the categories to ensure that you don’t miss something that you would really like.
Please be advised that I have never used FlexJobs, and they have not compensated me in any way for mentioning their web site here. When I came across their web site today, it looked like a good resource for people who are looking for a home – based job but do not have tons of time to search for listings. I do like that the site seems to be very credible. It is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and there are not any advertisements on it. Although there is no substitute for careful research and screening of job opportunities, it does appear to me that FlexJobs is a safe and convenient place to look for home – based jobs if you do not mind paying a fee.
