I only eat one kind of brand of yogurt. I walk through the dairy aisle of my store and pass up half a dozen brands to get to my favorite. A few times a good sale caught my wandering eye and I cheated on my favorite brand with another. Each time I was disappointed and begged forgiveness to the only yogurt for me. All other yogurts are runny, have boring flavors or have that distinct yogurty taste I dislike. Are you suggesting that I really don’t like yogurt? I’ve considered that myself many times. Yet, my Yoplait never disappoints in flavor or texture. I am persuaded that Yoplait is so good that it not only draws the attention of yoga yogurt lovers everywhere but those who only pretend to enjoy the snack of thin people.
You can imagine my excitement when I received an invitation to a virtual press conference for Yoplait’s new 2 Week Tune Up! The invitation did not specify what the conference would be about but it said Yoplait and that got my attention. While I think Yoplait should pay me to be a spokesperson due to my only occasional wavering devotion to their product, they have never asked. So rest assured my announcement of my only occasional wavering devotion is not coerced in any manner. Maybe they will read this and send me a coupon or something, you think? At any rate, Yoplait is announcing their 2 Week Tune Up designed to help women lose up to 5 pounds in a 2 week period.
The method is simple and not unlike many which came before. The diet consists of replacing your breakfast and lunch with a Yoplait Light, a grain and a fruit. In addition, the diet suggests only lean protein, non-fat dairy and balanced dinners and snacks. This plan is not without exercise as it includes walking for 30-40 minutes a day. Simple, right?
Pros:
Since Yoplait offers 30 flavors to keep your taste buds interested.
Five pounds is a safe and realistic amount of weight to lose in 2 weeks.
The diet plan includes exercise.
The diet plan does not make unrealistic claims and provides sensible choices.
You can get a customized diet plan at www.Yoplait.com.
Cons:
Yoplait Light contains aspartame. I find the taste offensive but Yoplait seems to hide it well. However, keep in mind there may still be an aftertaste and aspartame quite frankly should not be consumed.
Yoplait Light contains high fructose corn syrup.
Yoplait uses food dyes (like most other companies) so be aware as food dyes are a common allergen.
Personally I get the Thick and Creamy Yoplait which does not contain the fake sugar. It does contain the high fructose corn syrup but avoiding that is very difficult in any yogurt besides organic. Also keep in mind that this Tune Up does not claim to be a weight loss solution. This is simply a way to get a boost or head start on your diet routine or to lose some pounds after the holidays. You can’t eat yogurt forever so if you choose this method be sure to educate yourself on how to maintain your weight loss after the 2 weeks are up.
