Have you been experiencing back pain lately? If so, there could be a number of reasons why to include excessive weight. Everyone, even people without back pain should learn everything possible about preventing back injury. After all, the cost and involvement of fixing a bad back is not the way to go. For starters, I suggest you check your posture. Although most of us were taught about good posture in school or at home, we still slouch. Learning how to stand, sit, and lift properly will make a huge difference.
Additionally, you can talk to your doctor or physical trainer about exercises to help strengthen the muscles in the back. In time, you would likely experience less stress and pain. However, one of the worst things for any back, good or bad is too much weight Keep in mind that no excess weight is good but potbellies are particularly bad for back pain.
When a person carries around too much weight, extra force is exerted on the back and stomach muscles. What happens is the back naturally tries to support this extra weight in the front by swaying backwards. With this, too much strain is on the lower part of the back, which then creates pain. If you can exercise and improve posture, while losing the weight, you will begin to notice a huge improvement in how your back feels.
Obviously, excessive weight goes beyond just back pain. Carrying around more weight than you should be can lead to health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and more. Even with the holiday season approaching, do something good for your body. I did by dropping 50 plus pounds in the past year. I feel great, my clothes feel better, my confidence is up, and best of all, my body is healthier, and I no longer have an aching back.
