Love Day Photo Projects

left

Don’t waste a photo like this.

Family pictures that showcase love are ideal to feature in Valentine’s Day photo projects.

Fortunately, you don’t have to channel Martha Stewart to create stunning works of art to present to your sweetheart on Love Day. If you are craft challenged, then simply select a slew of your favorite family photos and display them in a shadow box. All you have to do is attach a series of pictures to the back panel of the shadow box frame with acid-free glue, add a couple of embellishments or personal mementos with pushpins, and you’ve got a super-easy custom-made photo gift that will warm hearts well after Valentine’s Day is over.

Another simple photo project is a personalized vase decorated with images of loved ones. It’s pretty, it’s practical and it’s a cinch to make. Start by collecting a bunch of themed photos. The pictures could be from a recent family vacation, a holiday party or a reunion. Next, cut the prints into heart shapes and glue them to a cube-shaped vase. Make sure you do not leave any visible spaces between the photos. If you have white space, fill it in with vellum or wrap the entire vase in colored tissue paper before you attach the photos. Finish by wrapping ribbon around the top of the vase, and then attach a bow with hot glue.

If you really want to turn the spotlight on your photos, create a personalized love story with them in a Valentine’s Day photo book. Use the pages to display pictures of you and your sweetheart, and then add text to tell the story of your romance. This is a great idea if you have been married for a while and have kids. Use additional pages to feature photos of your life together, such as family trips, your children’s graduation parties, and candid shots of your honey cuddling with you or your kids. If you are not good at expressing your feelings on paper, include famous love-themed poems or phrases to get your message across in the book.
