Love Day Travel Deals

Valentine’s Day is just a couple weeks away and if you are planning a romantic rendezvous with your sweetheart now is the time to start making your reservations. Hotels, resorts and B&Bs around the world are rolling out the rose petal strewn carpet for Love Day guests, but the best deals are going fast.

In my previous blogs I listed heart warming Valentine’s Day travel packages designed for serious lovebirds. The following deals cater to couples that are looking to partake in activities outside their guest rooms.

LAS VEGAS

The MonteLago Village Resort, which is located about 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, has constructed a floating ice-skating rink—–in the middle of the desert—–for guests to slide into Valentine’s Day on. To show off the rink the resort is offering a “Holiday Skate, Stay and Shop” package that includes a one-night stay in a studio condo with a kitchenette and a private balcony, as well as ice-skating and rental skates. Not into skating? The resort also features two pools and a pedestrian village with winding cobblestone streets lined with boutiques, shops, and galleries. Rates start at $64.50 per person, and the offer expires February 17, 2008.

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

Located in the city’s historic district, the HarbourView Inn is embracing Valentine’s Day lovers. Just in time for the big day the inn is offering a “Great Escapes” package, which features the lodging’s standard wine and cheese reception each afternoon and freshly baked cookies and milk each evening. The travel package also includes a two-night stay, two tickets for a private carriage tour of the city, a $75 gift certificate for one of three local restaurants, and breakfast delivered to your room each morning. Rates start at $613 per room for the two-night stay before Feb. 9, 2008. Over the Valentine’s Day weekend only the more expensive HarbourView rooms are still available-—starting at $873.

ARUBA

Warning: You’ll need to leave the kids with grandma and grandpa to take advantage of this deal.

The Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino’s Adult Indulgence package includes accommodations at the adults-only Renaissance Marina Hotel (guests must be at least 18 years old) and two tickets to a weekly “Sunset in Style” event, which takes place on the deck of the hotel’s infinity pool. The sunset soiree includes a feast of tapas, complimentary drinks, and live music (valued at $125). Also, if you stay four nights, you’ll receive a fifth night’s stay free. Rates start at $368 per room per night and the deal ends on March 30, 2008.
