One last craft for the month, something quick and easy to keep the kids entertained. I love making things for kids but it’s even more enjoyable when it’s easy enough that they can help. Ivy helped make this and loves the flowers and the bees.
Materials
Magnetic sheets
Scrapbook paper- you can use any paper, even things your print on your printer like pictures of your children that they can use as markers
Mod podge
This tic tac toe board is so quick you can whip one up in just a few minutes. The kids will love watching it come together.
The magnetic sheets you buy will have adhesive on one side so just peel off the protective cover and place it on the wrong side of the scrapbook paper you want to use for the base of the game. Trim the excess paper away. I used a sharpie to draw the lines but you could glue ribbon or strips of paper if you wanted. For the tic tac toe pieces I cut emblems from a scrapbook page.
Since I was making this for a little girl I used bees and flowers. If you are making your for a boy you could uses cars and trucks or baseballs and bats, or the traditional X’s and O’s. Place the emblems right side up on the sticky side of the magnet. Press well. After all the pieces are finished paint them with a thin layer of Mod Podge. This will make the surface a little more dirt resistant and help make sure they don’t peel off the magnet backs.
This is a great toy for a car ride, the pieces stick to the game so they don’t tumble off when you go around a turn. It’s small enough to fit in a backpack or in the little pocket on the back of your car seat.
