One great thing about all of this exercising and cutting back on especially sugar is the fact that I seem to have more energy. My stamina is improving of course, but also my energy levels during the day.
But first, I have to tell you about a major accomplishment I had this week. Lately, we have had more than our fair share of rain. It has been raining so hard and for so long, that the roads and our driveway looked like a hurricane hit them, a challenge for walking, even if it weren’t raining. So, I have been focuses on the elliptical machine until I could get back out on the road.
Today, it was dry enough (although there was still plenty of debris) on the road, and I got to take my walk. Generally, I include two short running sessions in my workout, one toward the beginning of my walk and one toward the end. The one toward the end is a challenge. I start at the end of my street which is filled with hills. There is this one tough hill, and I managed to actually run all of the way up to the top and even a bit farther past it! This is a hill that has challenged me for weeks. Truthfully, part of my motivation to tackle this hill was being able to write about it and share my accomplishment with you! Whoo hoo! I better load up my iPod with the theme from Rocky for tomorrow.
Okay, back to the energy level. With all of the extra energy, I decided to tackle a couple of boxes in our attic. One box contained my old work suits, and they were scary with shoulder pads. I did manage to find one simple suit and a sweater dress that still look great and in style. Of course I had to try on everything. To my surprise, it all fit or was even loose. I looked at the labels: 10s, 8s and mediums. At the beginning of my weight lost journey, I was in 10s and 12s or large for a dress. So, I am getting there. I have two old/new outfits and imagined tossing the fat along with the shoulder pads!
