Make a Book With Kodak Gallery

I enjoy making picture books, but my skills in design need some major honing. That’s why simple drag and drop book builders make sense to me. Something that makes me look good? Why of course, thank you!

Kodak Gallery allows you and your children to create picture books and photo books with easy to use online software. Yes, that’s online. The software does take a little bit of time to load, but it’s worthwhile. If you have over 400 photos to upload, there is a software download option.

Kodak has several sizes of photo books. They come in small, medium and large, kind of like coffee. Ok, so they use different names for the coffee, but you know that they’re really saying small, medium and large. If you’re looking for a vast selection of different sizes, this might not be the site for you. You can add pages to each of the book sizes to create a longer book if you wish.

Kodak offers a Quickstart or a Step By Step program. If you’d like to create a book that is distinctly yours, choose the Step By Step option. If you’d like to cut some corners and get that book to your friends and family as quickly as possible, go for the Quickstart option. If you’d like to go a little more custom, I’ve tried the Step by Step option too, and it’s not too difficult.

The photo book builder allows you to upload photos from your computer or from Facebook. This is essential for teens and for people like me, who have more long term photo collections on Facebook than on any one memory stick or portion of the computer’s hard drive.

There are convenient drag and drop tools that allow you to move your photos around the page. There are also opportunities to customize your photo borders and the front of your book.

If you’d like to create custom text for a story book, the place on the page for the caption is rather limited. The pages tend to be dominated with the photos rather than the text, which is probably a good thing. This might not be the best program for particularly verbose writers, though.

Kodak’s prices are in line with the industry average. Prices for small photo books start at $9.99. There are discounts for large print runs.
