Make Your Own Whiteboard

white board Need a white board for a child’s room, a kitchen or even a church? Do you homeschool? Make your own white board to aid in your teaching. It is easy to make a sturdy white board to whatever size you like, all for a fraction of the cost of buying on in a story. It is pretty easy to do. Just keep reading to learn more.

In the past, I wrote about saving an old white board, removing stains and refinishing it. After all, white boards can get pretty expensive. But that was before I found a way to make new white boards for a fraction of the cost of purchasing one. This is a really great idea if you need a really large white board.

The first thing you need to do is to go down to your local home improvement store, such as a Lowes or Home Dept. head over to the plumbing section and purchase shower board. It generally comes in six-foot lengths, and you can generally get two cuts down by a store employee for free. Additional cuts may require a small fee. Cut it to whatever size you need. You can make several white boards from one sheet, depending on the sizes you need. It is relatively inexpensive material compared to white boards, works just as well and is only a fraction of the cost.

When you get home (or where you are installing the white board), simply mount it to the wall. You can leave it as is or frame it up with everything from crown molding to scrap wood. To make a small white board, insert it into a photo frame after removing the glass. If you are creative, you can even cut it into an organic shape for a wonderful design element.
