Making It Count

If you have ever been in situation and then you have realized that it is coming to an end, you have two choices. The first is to stop caring, and let things slide, and the second is to make those last few days or weeks or minutes really count. I have never regretted the times that I have made it count. In fact looking back, I wish that I could have made other moments matter just a little bit more.

It is important that in our daily relationships with our loved ones, that we make it count. We do not know what will happen in the future, but more importantly, these relationships are the ones that matter the most. It is hard that at times the ones that we love the most are often the ones that see the times when we are at our worst or our weakest.

When you are talking to your children, planning family home evenings, or just hanging out as a family, you can make these moments count in a few simple ways. First take the time to compliment your children whenever you can. It is important to express your love and appreciation to them so that they know that you love them. Second, take the opportunity to teach strong values to your children whenever the opportunity shows itself. Finally make sure that everyone remembers these times as good and happy times.

Similarly, it is important that you make your relationship with the Savior and Heavenly Father as strong as possible. Take the time to read the scriptures each day and ponder the words that you are reading. Take time to really pray and talk to your Heavenly Father about your concerns and your needs. It is important to nurture this relationship, so that you have a strong testimony when you need it the most. Heavenly Father will always be there for you, but you need to open your heart to Him.
