In my last blog, I introduced you to the ancient Chinese method of Feng Shui. I explained that it is supposed to help bring good health and balance to your life.
The bedroom is the place where Feng Shui is mostly used. Of course, you can do this with any room. But as an example, we are going to be looking at how you map your bedroom with Feng Shui.
One of the reasons why the bedroom is a popular room for this principle is because it helps to create that sanctuary we need. It is where we rest, sleep and dream.
If you look at the image above, you will see that the bottom middle square is black, “Career,” which is where you enter your bedroom. A mirror is a great way to look at yourself and think about what you want to do with the person you are.
The far left square is blue, “Knowledge & Self Cultivation.” On the left-hand side of your room you might have books or a collection of crossword puzzles.
The far right square is grey, “Helpful People & Travel.” This is a great place to have pictures of people who help you, such as a famous person who inspires you. Scrapbooks from travels you have taken could also be found in this corner.
The center row of squares is for the middle of your bedroom. The far left square is green, “Friendly.” Since we are also thinking about colors in these areas of our bedroom, it’s a great place to have plants.
The middle square is yellow, “Health.” Perhaps a treadmill, an exercise ball or lightweights would be some good items.
The far right square is white, “Creativity & Children.” Are you most creative on your computer? That’s a good placement for it. Or you might include artwork, especially the kind done by your children.
Now we are at the top, with the far left square being purple, “Wealth & Prosperity.” Jewelry would fit in great.
The middle square is red, “Fame & Reputation.” Frame your awards or achievements. And finally, the far right square is pink, “Love & Marriage.” It’s a great corner of the room to place your bed. But you might also spruce it up with candles and flowers.
What other ideas do you have for incorporating Feng Shui into your bedroom?
