Here we go again…
Apparently, there are very few stars in Hollywood who understand that there are benefits to remaining mum on certain topics. No, discretion is not a celebrity strong point and Marie Osmond is a perfect example.
The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant has decided the world would be a better place if we all knew how she felt about the Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair picture brouhaha.
Yesterday, Osmond went public blaming Miley’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus for leaving his 15-year-old daughter alone during the photo shoot (F.Y.I. Miley’s grandmother and teacher remained with the teen when her dad was called away to a business appointment).
According to Osmond, who grew up as a child star and is a mother herself, what is particularly upsetting is that Billy Ray Cyrus is “an experienced showbiz parent and should have known better.”
Speaking to reporters Osmond said, “My parents never, never left us alone.”
The 48-year-old doll designer claims that if Miley’s dad stayed at the shoot the photo controversy would have never happened.
“Her dad stepped out, and that’s when it happened,” Osmond told reporters. “How do you say no to somebody like Annie [Leibovitz, the photographer] when you’re a little girl? It’s an interesting thing that happened with her.”
Of course, nothing like this ever happened to Osmond because as she tells it her mother (Olive Osmond) was the “perfect stage mom.”
Osmond says her mom was there for every stage of her life and supported her famous brothers as well.
Which is something Osmond claims Billy Ray is not doing 100% for his daughter.
“I think, if your kids are going to be in that kind of business, then you need to make it your business to be there for them and help them figure out, but not necessarily to control them,” Osmond told reporters.
Don’t get me wrong… she might have a point, BUT isn’t Marie Osmond the same mom whose son spent four months in rehab while she was shimming and shaking on a hit TV reality show?
