Marshmallow Peeps and The Peeple’s Choice Awards

Do you like to have fun with your food? If so, you may enjoy entering the annual Washington Post’s Peeple’s Choice Awards and possibly win.

No, that wasn’t a typo above. The Peeple’s Choice Awards are given annually to the best diorama that is formed out of Marshmallow Peeps. That is right, all of those soft, squishy, brightly colored chicks and bunnies are good for more than just Easter baskets.

Creative people all over the world are entering the Peep Show contest, creating Oscar caliber scenes made out of peeps. In the past, the colorful characters have been seen doing everything from riding the London metro to getting liposuction. And you haven’t really lived until you’ve seen the Peep version of Darth Vader. Scary. I wonder what is behind that marshmallow mask of his.

To enter the Peeple’s Choice Awards or just to vote for your favorite, you can visit The Washington Post.

And here you thought Peeps were just for removing fillings.

There are other creative uses for Peeps, beside just having them look pretty.
For example, did you know that you can use a couple of Peeps to control your Nintendo Wii? It is true. If you for some reason lose or damage your Wii sensor, forget replacing it. Just use two Peeps instead. Someone made a YouTube video that tells you exactly how to do this.

Better stock up on those Peeps while you still have the chance. You never know what they might be used for next. Perhaps Peeps could solve the energy crisis some day. I know they certainly inject a whole lot of energy into any kid who eats a few of them.

Have you seen any unusual uses for Marshmallow Peeps?
