Math Mammoth

Math Mammoth offers affordable, yet quality math worktexts and workbooks for grades 1-8, available as both downloads and printed books. These books concentrate on conceptual understanding and are strong in mental math. The directions in the worktexts are written directly to the student, and are often self-teaching, thus requiring little preparation and involvement from the teacher. ~From the website

My Thoughts

The author, Marie Miller, strives to bring a quality product at an affordable price to help children master math concepts. I would say she succeeded. The math concepts are explained in detail which is helpful to both the student and the teacher. In fact, this curriculum requires a minimum amount of teacher preparation. My children love a self teaching approach so Math Mammoth is a perfect fit. I must admit I love a self teaching math program for them as I am not the most prolific in math.

I used the curriculum for my daughter who is fiercely independent yet had a struggle with some math concepts. The program fit her perfectly. It provided the explanation she required to master the concepts. The mastery approach builds a foundation of strong math skills that I know will benefit my daughter over time. I highly recommend Math Mammoth. If you have any questions, Marie Miller, is quite gracious and always willing to help her customers. Besides, how can you complain about a program with a wooly mammoth on the cover?
