Matthew McConaughey is a Dad

I sense a Hollywood hook up in the making.

They were born on the same day, and who knows, in the future we might see them walking down the red carpet together.

I’m talking about Matthew McConaughey’s new son and Nicole Kidman’s newborn daughter.

Yesterday—7/7/08—turned out to be quite a lucky day for the superstar parents.

PEOPLE Magazine’s former Sexiest Man Alive and his girlfriend of two years Camila Alves just confirmed that they are now the proud parents of a healthy baby boy.

According to the actor’s rep, the newest McConaughey was born Monday at 6:22 p.m. in Los Angeles, and weighed in at 7 lbs., 4 oz.

The hunky Hollywood star announced that Alves was expecting his firstborn back in January.

In true McConaughey fashion “The Wedding Planner” star shared his exuberant reaction to the pregnancy on his website: “Camila and I made a baby together…” he wrote at the time. “We are stoked and wowed.”

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine McConaughey’s oldest brother, Rooster said it was “about time” that his often-shirtless sibling spawn.

And so it is. Baby McConaughey has entered the world. Let’s just hope he learns from his dad’s mistakes and watches what and how much he drinks. He’ll also have to be careful about whom he hangs out with and what he wears (or doesn’t wear).

McConaughey’s rep didn’t mention what the happy couple decided to name their bundle of joy.

What’s your guess? Monday? Tuesday?

With Alves being a new age model and handbag designer and McConaughey being a tree-hugger himself I would venture to guess that they would stray from the traditional John, Bob and Dan and opt for a more earthy moniker that befits the peaceful aura the couple say surrounds them.

Barley, perhaps… or maybe Acai… Ginseng McConaughey?

Anyone?
