If you are interested in a good resource to teach your children safety you should check out McGruff.org. This site is designed to teach children the basic rules of safety in a fun manner. It can be used in addition to other safety programs.

The site has a special section just for kids. This part of the site includes games, videos and stories that teach the important rules of safety. It also includes interactive downloads such as wallpaper for your desktop, posters you can print out and trading cards. The site includes all safety concerns you may want to teach your children about. It includes the old dangers such as stranger danger, as well as the new ones such as cyber safety and online predators.

In addition to the information for the children, there is a section dedicated to adults. The site is designed for educators and parents. On this part of the site you can read articles, which teach you how to talk to your children about your concerns, and outline basic steps that you need to take as an adult to keep your kids safe. There are also several programs offered that you can sign you local youth group up to take and complete.

The McGruff organization is planning a crime prevention conference in Atlanta on October 3, 4 and 5, 2006. This is designed for educators and law enforcement agencies.
