We had a fun week here in Media Reviews. If you weren’t able to catch all the blogs, never fear – we’ve got a summary for you so you can stay up to date.
If you’ve been searching for a fun and informative children’s television show for your kids, look no further than “Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman.” Set in a game show-style format, the contestants learn about science, math, physics and innumerable other valuable subjects while having fun.
“Max and Ruby” is a cute children’s show based on the picture books of author Rosemary Wells, and is bound to be a hit with your younger children.
“First Day” is the second novel by LDS author Allyson Braithwaite Condie, and tells us the story of four people who are each seeking their way in life, and how they are able to help each other.
Does the sun ever get tired of keeping such a tight schedule? Read all about it in “The Cranky Sun,” a fun children’s picture book.
In “The Biggest Shadow in the Zoo,” we learn what happens when Goober, the zoo’s elephant, thinks his shadow has fallen in the water and drowned.
“The River, By Moonlight” is a beautifully written literary novel about an artist who chooses to take her own life, and how that affects everyone around her. Set in World War I, we not only see the sorrow caused by the death, but also by the potential deaths of those members of the family who have chosen to enlist and will be leaving soon.
We ended the week with the fun book, “Snowflake Bentley,” about a boy who persists until he finds a way to document the different shapes of snowflakes by using a camera attached to a microscope. The most fun thing about this book – it’s a true story.
We hope you’re able to join us again here in Media Reviews, and have a great week.
