Let’s take a look at all the fun we had this week in Media Reviews!
We started out with “Relationship Magic,” a self-help book for married couples written in the form of a fairy tale to help husbands and wives more easily recognize patterns they might be perpetrating in their own lives. We then read about “Restoree,” which was author Anne McCaffrey’s first published novel.
“Ashley’s Unforgettable Summer” is a cute children’s picture book about a girl who has a baby chimp for a pet, and “Coffee Rings” by Yvonne Lehman is a Christian women’s fiction novel about the accidental death of a young woman and the way it affects her friends and family for years down the road.
“Really Something” is a book that combines romance and humor for a fun read. Allie Dean has returned to her hometown a lot lighter and a lot more in control of her life, and wants to start fresh, but finds a little opposition in the form of her mother’s 2,000 calorie dinners.
“The People of Sparks” is a fun, young adult fantasy novel that shows the importance of standing up for your beliefs, and “Night Cat” is a children’s picture books about a cat who decides to see what goes on in the garden after the sun goes down.
We continued on with “Melissa Parkington’s Beautiful, Beautiful Hair,” a sweet story about a girl who donates her prized hair to be made into wigs. We also read about “The Prophet of Yonwood,” the next book that follows “The People of Sparks” in Jeanne DuPrau’s series.
“Lady Luck’s Map of Vegas” is a novel about mothers, daughters, and finding out who you really are (and doesn’t offer gambling tips, according to Lauri.) We finished up the week with a look at the television show “How Clean is Your House,” which inspired me to never open the door to anyone with a television camera, ever.
We hope you enjoyed this look back at the week and that you’ll be able to join us again here in Media Reviews.
