These questions cover tuition costs and how to offset those costs. Again, here is Susan, Director of M-TEC:
How much is the tuition for M-TEC, and what does that include? Tier I Premier is $3395.00. This includes all college-level textbooks/workbooks, medical transcription on CD with transcriber software built in, foot pedal, reference books, individual instructor support, technology instructor support, online general class sessions, online technology class sessions, job placement assistance, web support, RMT/CMT student groups at no additional cost, and a lifetime of support as a graduate with access to online classes, forums, website information.
Are there any scholarships offered by M-TEC? We are currently working on a scholarship that we were offered. Once we have it approved by the State Of Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools, we will implement this during 2007.
Can people apply for federal loans and/or Pell grants to use towards tuition? No. It is our understanding after much research that distance education programs do not qualify for federal (Title IV) funding. We do qualify for WIA in some states, work with vocational rehabilitation facilities in most states, offer interest-free payment options, as well as a student loan through SLM Financial which is very popular with our students.
Make sure to read on to part three, where we cover the course and student support itself.
