Merry Christmas!!
Today is one of my most favorite days in the world. It only has competitors from the birthdays of my children and my wedding day.
Christmas is about so much more than the gifts that we give and receive today. Christmas all began with the gift of love. The love of a child, the love of a Father, the unselfish love of others.
This is a big day for many couples throughout the world. Christmas is always a fun time to spend with the ones that you love. It is a time to be merry and happy.
I know that there will be many mixed emotions cycling through couples today. Some will be overwhelmed with excitement and joy from a special surprise gift while others may be filled with hurt and disappointment. Their gifts did not turn out to be as wonderful.
While this saying is likely tired and over used it is true that “it is the thought that counts”. Today is it my wish that partners out there focus not on the physical gift giving or receiving but the gift that you were given when you met each other. The gift of love.
There are so many people out there today that are alone. They do not have a special someone to snuggle up with in the cold night or the excited pitter-patter of feet to hear this morning as Santa’s gifts were discovered.
Today, take the time to see that the true gift that you have received is the gift of love. There is no greater gift in the world. Remember not only the gift of love that you have received from your partner and your family but also the love that you have received from Jesus Christ.
Today, count your blessings and pass them on. Give the gifts of joy, peace, happiness and love.
