Meet Mike Zadick

Mike is the son of Bob and Toni Zadick and has one brother, Bill, as well as two sisters, Maryanne and Terri. While in high school he was a four-time state champion and a member of the football team. Along with his brother, Bill, the Zadick brothers became part of the first set of siblings since 1995 to make a World or Olympic Team. Currently he is a Volunteer Assistant Coach at the University of Iowa where he completed in college. While at Iowa, he was a three-time NCAA All-American from 2000-02. Mike works for a taxidermy service and enjoys hunting and fishing.

Why Root for Him?

Currently, Mike is one of the biggest names in U.S. wrestling, having earned the 2007-08 Team USA No. 1 ranking at 60kg. In July 2007, he picked up a silver medal at the Pan American Games to follow up his second place performance in the 2006 World Championships. Also in 2006 he claimed first place at the Dave Schultz Memorial International Championship. In 2005, he was third in the World Team Trials, as well as sixth in the World Cup. In 2004, he was second in the U.S. Olympic Trials and placed second at the U.S. national Championships

About Heather Long

Heather Long is 35 years old and currently lives in Wylie, Texas. She has been a freelance writer for six years. Her husband and she met while working together at America Online over ten years ago. They have a beautiful daughter who just turned five years old. She is learning to read and preparing for kindergarten in the fall. A former horse breeder, Heather used to get most of her exercise outside. In late 2004, early 2005 Heather started studying fitness full time in order to get herself back into shape. Heather worked with a personal trainer for six months and works out regularly. She enjoys shaking up her routine and checking out new exercises. Her current favorites are the treadmill (she walks up to 90 minutes daily) and doing yoga for stretching. She also performs strength training two to three times a week. Her goals include performing in a marathon such as the Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness or Team in Training for Lymphoma research. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience through the fitness and marriage blogs.
