Mirror Mirror

I love Julia Roberts in anything! I think she is amazing, the range of emotions she can portray, and make you believe, hold me enthralled.

This story of Snow White deviates from the original where the princess is a helpless little thing, cooking and cleaning, then waiting for Prince Charming to wake her with a kiss after she falls prey to an evil spell.

In this version, Snow White is strong, she holds her own, stands up for those who are suffering and she uses true love’s first kiss to break the spell on the prince.

All of the fairy tale characters in this version take on new roles. The dwarfs are thieves, the evil Queen had them banished from the kingdom as undesirables so they rob anyone who passes through their woods. They teach Snow White to be one of them, she learns to fight and ambush. Snow White teaches them to give the money back to those it rightfully belongs to, she makes them heroes instead of villains.

The prince as always is handsome and dashing, and spends a lot of time with his shirt off, thanks to the dwarfs who also take your clothes when they rob you to prevent you from coming after them.

The prince falls prey to the dwarfs and to the evil Queen’s plan and, in an interesting turn of events, Snow White has to rescue him.

The queen still wants Snow White dead so she can be the fairest of them all and has no problem resorting to magic to do so. The mirror tells her over and over that she will have to pay the consequences for using magic but the Queen doesn’t care, she wants her way and will do anything to achieve it.

In the end, girl gets boy and hopefully they live happily ever after.
