Mission: Space Becomes More Accessible To All Riders

After bouncing back from two ride related deaths (if one can truly do that), Disney World has begun to offer a “soup-downed” version of Mission Space for riders who are prone to motion sickness and heart problems. For riders who have serious heart conditions or experience claustrophobia, this may be just what the doctor ordered. Literally.

The ride which, basically, places riders in a large cylinder and “spins” them around (much like the popular ride at state fairs that is usually referred to as “The Graviton”) causing riders to experience G-force conditions as they ride. However, with Mission: Space’s new “Choose Your Team” platform, riders with impaired health conditions, or simply those who simply want to ride the attraction without worry of getting sick (to date, Mission: Space is the only WDW attraction to offer sick bags to its visitors), can take advantage of Mission: Space’s “Green Team” which experiences no G-Force.

Before entering the attraction, riders will receive a pass for either the Green Team (no G-Force) or Orange Team (G-Force). Once you’re inside the attraction, you must give your pass indicating your choice of experience to the Mission: Space Cast Member. From there, you will be seated in either the Green or Orange Team section to experience the ride.

Mission: Space is located inside Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Center. For more information on the attraction, visit Walt Disney World’s official Mission: Space page.
