“Mollypalooza”

Not everyone can say they’ve gone out on a date with a TV star. And, chances are even slimmer that one would get to brag that they scored time with Esquire’s “Sexiest Woman Alive.” But, YOU could be that lucky someone—if the price is right.

A date with “7th Heaven” star Jessica Biel will be up for bid next week to help raise money for a Colorado teenager who lost her leg in a prom night limousine accident. The event dubbed “Mollypalooza” was designed to help Molly Bloom’s family with medical expenses. The teen, who is still undergoing rehabilitation, was the victim of a tragic prom night disaster nearly six weeks ago. According to police reports, Bloom was leaving her senior prom when her limo driver began moving the vehicle before she was completely inside. Bloom fell to the ground and was run over by the Hummer’s rear tire and dragged about 38 feet, police said. Bloom’s condition was so critical that doctors had to amputate her leg.

Devastated by the news, Bloom’s classmates sprung into action. Dmitri Lee Natali, a friend of Bloom’s, convinced his mother to contact Biel’s parents (the popular actress is a Boulder native and her parents had heard about the Bloom’s tragedy). Biel’s parents got in touch with their daughter (who was on location filming a movie) and without much prodding got the actress to go along with the date auction idea. In fact, to further show her support and drum up donations for the event Biel posted an audio message on the Internet urging listeners to “dig deep” in their pockets to help Bloom.

The auction is scheduled to take place next week in Denver. As for the date with Biel, event organizers are calling it a “lunch date.” But that’s not stopping many of Bloom’s male classmates from trying to raise enough money to outbid contenders so they can be able to say they shared a meal with Esquire’s “Sexiest Woman Alive.”
