Monday Layout Challenge – Song Lyrics

We are back for another great Monday Layout Challenge, and this one is a fun one.

I had a blast with last week’s challenge, and actually got about ten layouts done using some of my old stuff. It was great, and I found a whole bunch of new things to do with some of it. I will be putting articles up on that later. Did you use some of your old tools and make new layouts with them? Tell me if you found a new way to use something.

I am really excited to present today’s today’s challenge:

Your challenge for this week is to get creative with song lyrics. Pick a song, you know – one of those songs that just reminds you of a certain person, or a certain time in your life, or perhaps just an event. Scrapbook it. You can use pictures, or you can do a layout without them. Use the lyrics on your layout, or title your layout after the song.

I did the following layout several years ago (2002) about my son who was going through a challenging time and was trying to come to terms with who he is. Every time I thought of him, the song from “The Facts of Life” kept coming back to haunt me. “You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have…”

I decided it was the perfect song to scrapbook these pictures of him. I also included a tooth he had just lost and a letter telling him how much I believed in him. You do not have to do that, or you can.

So go get started. Pull out your CD collection or MP3 player and start listening until you find the perfect song. Or maybe you already know it. Just do a search for the lyrics or write them by heart and get busy on that layout. Add your layout to the gallery if you would like so we can see it, and then let me know in the comments.

Why do I do these challenges:
I am doing the weekly layout challenge for several reasons. One, I want you to get your photographs out of storage devices and onto your layouts, and two I want to help you brainstorm ideas, as well as use up your stash of supplies. If there is something you would like to see or something that you need to work on that I might be able to incorporate into a challenge, let me know.
