I have decided to post a challenge each Monday that you can do, or you can not do. My hopes in the photo challenges are to get you thinking outside the box, and taking more pictures. I want to you to try out new angles, lighting techniques and more.
If there is something you would like to see, or something that you are wanting to learn or see examples of, that I might be able to incorporate into a challenge, let me know. Most of the photographs that I show will be recent, with the exception of a few that I will pull out of my digital storage to illustrate certain points and give you a greater source of examples.
So on to today’s photo challenge:
Today’s challenge is to find a popular landmark or building that everyone in your city recognizes as a historic landmark. If you are in a small town, I realize this might not be a major place and it could be as simple as a popular park, but try to grab it in a new light. However, I don’t want you to choose the actual building or landmark. Find something unique about it and capture that on film. See my photo for an example.
My photograph for this challenge:
This photograph is of a the St. Louis Muny Gazebo. The Muny is a well known St. Louis landmark, and while even the building is beautiful in its historic value, this particular image of the Gazebo was my favorite taken that day. I tried to find things about the Muny that people would recognize yet, however weren’t actually of the Muny. The St. Louis Muny is located in Forest Park and resides with many of our cities other popular attractions and landmarks, (the zoo, the art museum, Jewel Box, etc.)
So what photograph did you take? Add your photograph to the gallery if you would like, and then let me know in the comments.
