The spring cleaning is finally done so why are there still messy jobs that need to be done? There are some things in every house that don’t get done very often, either because we don’t think aobut them or because we think it is going to be too much work.
Now that your house is sparkling from all the spring cleaning, lets get those little jobs out of the way.
Are your light fixtures a bug graveyard? Even when I think there are no bugs in my house, somehow there are dead ones in the light fixture.
This really doesn’t take very long, the hardest part is holding your arms over your head while you take the light fixture off. Use a short ladder, a chair will tip, I know most of us use chairs but it’s not safe, get out the ladder. Do all the light fixtures at once, empty them of dead bugs and if they can take it, wash them in hot soapy water. Allow to dry and then hang them back up. No more bug corpses, for a week or two anyway.
When is the last time you cleaned under your refrigerator? Now is the time. Grab it and wiggle it forward, if yours is on wheels, even easier. Once you have it out, pull the plug, the food will survive, it won’t take that long. Brush the coils at the back of the refrigerator and vacuum up the dust. Wipe down the sides of the refrigerator and clean the floor under it. If there is a removable grill on the bottom, take it off and vacuum the coils under there. Plug it in and push it back.
Do you have glass shower doors that are an embarrassment? If they are really coated with soap scum heat some vinegar to barely boiling and use a soft non abrasive scrubber sponge or microfiber cloth. Be very careful with the hot vinegar. Vinegar will also clean the shower tracks, just put a little in there, let sit for a few minutes and scrub with a small brush and wipe with a cloth.
Three little jobs that can hide big dirt. No one may notice, but at least you’ll know it was done.
