More Divorces, a Baby, and a Threat

It seems that every week in Hollywood, we get a couple of announcements of couple separations and at least one announcement of a couple expecting a little bundle of joy. Here is the latest from Hollywood:

Divorces:

Actress Anna Faris has filed for divorce from her husband of three years, actor Benjamin Indra. You may remember Faris from her roles in the Scary Movie series, Brokeback Mountain, and My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Indra has been in a few low budget horror flicks such as Lover’s Lane and Voodoo Academy. The couple married in 2004 and reportedly separated last month.

CNN Newswoman Paula Zahn also announced her divorce this week. She and her husband of twenty years, Richard Cohen, have three children – daughter Haley and sons Jared and Austin. Cohen is a New York real estate developer while Zahn is best known for her ten years at CBS and her anchor position at CNN, which she has held since 2001.

Baby News

Academy Award nominated actor Nick Nolte is set to become a dad again at the age of 66. His long time girlfriend, British actress Clytie Lane, is reportedly pregnant. The actor has a twenty-year-old son, Brawley, from his marriage to Rebecca Linger and two stepchildren from his marriage to Sheila Page.

Let’s just hope the new baby never gets a look at that scary mug shot of dad!

A Threat

If you remember, a while back, I blogged about Phil Spector. He is accused of murdering B movie actress Lana Clarkson in February 2003. Spector has changed his story a couple of times; originally saying he accidentally shot her then saying Clarkson killed herself. He has pleaded not guilty.

They are still selecting the jury for the trial, which is set to begin April 30th, but prosecutors are already saying he has a long history of violence against women. I suspected as much after reading Ronnie Spector’s biography, in which she said he pretty much kept her captive in their house until she escaped.

But now, we are hearing the news that he threatened an ex-girlfriend years ago. Devra Robitaille worked for Spector at Warner Spector Records between 1974 and 1977. She said Spector held a gun to her head one night as she tried to leave a party. She also said a similar incident happened years later. The prosecution has four other women ready to testify that Spector threatened them with a gun as well.

Right now, he’s only guilty of a really bad hairdo, but it ain’t looking good.
