More “Drama” For The Osbourne’s

Okay, I confess, there was a time when I actually sat down and watched an entire “Osbourne’s” marathon on MTV. For those of you who don’t remember (or choose not to admit that you remember), “The Osbourne’s” was a reality-based comedy that followed the lives of Ozzy Osbourne (FYI–he’s a popular heavy metal rocker) and his family. I always found the family’s antics mildly amusing, but remained riveted to the TV mainly because I awestruck by how the family struggled to make it through a single day without some form of drama enveloping every aspect of their lives. Life in the Osbourne’s house never lacked drama. And so it continues…

A London newspaper reports that flames erupted in Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s English country mansion late last week. Fire investigators say the cause of the blaze was the result of a faulty lamp.

Fortunately, neither the couple nor their children, Amy, Jack and Kelly, were at the London house when the fire started. (Though, officials report that a housekeeper was treated for smoke inhalation.) Local fire and rescue personnel responded to the fire shortly after it started and were able to prevent the fire from spreading. Fire crews say the blaze was relatively small and caused only minor damage to the entrance hallway of the family’s mansion.

Ironically, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne had to flee the mansion last year when a fire broke out in their living room. That followed the infamous 2004 incident where Ozzy tried unsuccessfully to tackle a thief as he raided the house and stole a large amount of jewelry. The London estate was also the site of another well-documented 2003 incident in which Ozzy broke his collarbone, several ribs and a neck vertebra in an all-terrain vehicle accident on the grounds of the estate. See… I told you… DRAMA!
