Can you believe there’s only a couple more days until Father’s Day. If you missed the Father’s Day sale at Shutterfly, you may be wondering what you’re going to do to celebrate the greatest dad on the planet.
Well, it may be too late to order a photo gift online, but it’s certainly not too late to create your own photo gift for your favorite guy. Here are a few ideas that you could make in a flash and that won’t cost a whole lot either.
* Pull out the camera and get snapping! What are a few of dad’s favorite things? Sometimes a well-taken shot of something your dad loves can make a great gift. If he’s a nature lover, head outside for some beautiful summer shots. If he can’t get enough of his dogs or his classic car, take some photos of these interests and do something fun with them.
* Head to the photo printing place (or hook your camera up to your personal photo printer) to have a few photos printed. Try printing in different sizes to fit a special frame or make a collage out of the shots you’ve taken. You can even have high-resolution photos printed poster size in no time at all for a fun gift.
* Get crafty. Have the kids pull out the popsicle sticks and glue or other craft items to make homemade frames, kitchen magnets, or paperweights using the photos you printed. Use your imagination, and you’ll come up with something fabulous. You could even do an internet search if your well of creative ideas is running dry.
* Make a new computer desktop image for dad’s computer. This doesn’t even require printing, but it could sure be fun. Open up an image in a photo editing software, and play around. Perhaps you add a special message to a photo or create a digital collage of images especially for Dad. Then change it to the image on the morning of Father’s Day so when he heads to the computer he has a special surprise waiting.
The important thing is to make Dad feel special, and photos are a great way to say “Thanks” for everything Dad does for you.
