More Games to Play – 20 to 24 Months

Can you tell I’m in the mood to play today? I can hardly wait for my nine-month-old nephew to get to these ages as I remember all the fun things that my daughter enjoyed doing at the same time. Following up my two parts from earlier today covering 12 to 16 and 16 to 20 months – here are some games and fun you can have with your soon to be 2 year old!

Dance Dance Dance

Every mom and dad loves to dance with their baby and who doesn’t get tickled when baby starts to dance themselves? By this age, most babies are walking, running and dancing. They can stomp their feet and they can go up on their tippy-toes. So play some music that gets them to play and pretend and dance – stomp their feet like a giant or an elephant, flutter their arms like a bird or dance around on their tippy toes like a mouse from Cinderella!

Do You Hear What I Hear?

This is a fun game when your baby is talking and can identify some sounds with their names. Cover the baby’s eyes and make a noise or play a noise and then ask them to identify the sound. Go outside and lay down on a blanket in the shade, ask your baby what they can hear. It’s a great deal of fun for both you and your toddler.

Chase!

Catch me if you can – your toddler loves to chase and be chased. And there are plenty of times that you’ll enjoy the play time of chasing your toddler so remember that the object of the game is to get caught or to catch and when you do catch them or they catch you – they get big hugs and kisses and lots of giggles and laughter!
