If news reports are true, Monday could be a huge day for accused killer William Balfour.
The 27-year-old “person of interest” in the triple murder involving actress Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother, and 7-year-old nephew, could walk out of jail a free man by the end of the weekend.
According to various media organizations, Balfour is currently being held behind bars on a parole violation in a case that has nothing to do with the Hudson family murders. The estranged husband of Hudson’s sister Julia is scheduled to face the Illinois State Parole Review Board Monday morning. According to law enforcement officers, there is a possibility Balfour could be set free if there is not enough evidence to prove he violated his parole.
Legal experts say the only way authorities could keep Balfour in jail is if they officially charge him for the Hudson family killings between now and Monday, or if they find evidence to prove that he did violate his parole.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson’s sister Julia has outraged a number of online chatters by posting what’s being called “insensitive” comments on her MySpace page.
Julia and Jennifer’s mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason, were found shot to death at their Chicago home on October 24th. While Julia’s young son Julian King was shot dead and his body was found in an abandoned SUV three days later.
Since the incidents Julia has uploaded new pictures of her deceased loved ones onto her MySpace page.
According to website TMZ.com, one particular photo features the caption: “Now that Jason’s gone I’m the prettiest one.”
Others note that up until a few days ago Julia’s MySpace page still contained photos of Balfour bearing the caption: “Friend.”
Finally, a word about the whereabouts of Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson: The former “American Idol” contestant hasn’t been seen since her family’s funeral earlier this week.
Star magazine is reporting that Hudson has been hiding out at pal Oprah Winfrey’s luxury Chicago condo, despite the fact that the singer owns her own apartment in the Windy City.
The magazine says the talk show queen has been helping Hudson as she mourns the loss of her mother, brother and young nephew.
A source tells Star magazine, “Jennifer has been staying at Oprah’s East Lake Shore Drive condo. There’s plenty of privacy and security there.”
