With the unofficial start to summer just a few short weeks away now is the time to start planning your family getaway. Flights to sunny destinations are being heavily discounted by several major airlines. This is rare event given the recent hike of fares due to rising fuel costs. Don’t procrastinate these deals to popular U.S. cities and gorgeous Mexican beaches will not last long.
Under $300
It’s hard to believe but you can actually fly to Ireland this summer for less than $300. Okay, the price only covers one-way travel, but still, Aer Lingus’ newest promotion is hard to beat. The carrier is allowing you to fly over the Atlantic this summer — without having to take out a second mortgage. For just $299 (one-way) you can travel to Dublin or Shannon throughout the month of June from six U.S. cities.
Under $1000
Alitalia has also unveiled an outstanding summer savings promotion. For $837 (round-trip) you can fly to Milan from Boston or Chicago anytime between June 14 and July 31 or September 1 and October 28. However, you must act fast as the offer expires on May 31.
In addition, AeroMexico is currently offering a 10% discount to anyone booking airfare online. The deal applies to fares from more then ten U.S. cities to any destination in Mexico where the airline flies, including Cancun and Acapulco. All you need to do to get the discount is to enter promotion code “AMDZQ” when booking travel through December 14th.
Finally, it’s not airline related, but the savings were too good for me not to pass along. Right now Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Sandestin, Florida is running a Memorial Day travel package. For just $99 per room per night you can kick off your summer at this premier family resort on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast. The 2,400-acre property boasts miles of white-sand beaches, watersports, endless family-oriented activities, and a fireworks extravaganza at the end of the weekend.
