I live in the Midwest portion of the United States where we have been getting hammered with multiple days of snow and wind. Needless to say, skiers around these parts don’t need to take advantage of travel deals to resorts in Colorado and Montana. Heck, we could ski in our backyard if it were a bit hillier.
However, if you live in a part of the world where Mother Nature has neglected to make a pit stop to dump the white stuff on your favorite ski spot then you might consider taking advantage of the following money saving travel packages offered by some of the nation’s top ski resorts.
Take a look:
MONTANA
Big Sky Resort in the Rocky Mountains is offering a deal at Huntley Lodge, which includes lodging, daily all-you-can-eat breakfast and lift tickets (valued at $75 per person per day) for $540 per person for a 5-night stay. By booking the package you save about 20 percent off the amount you would pay if you were to buy the components separately. Big Sky offers 22 lifts and 3,800 acres of skiable terrain for beginner-through advanced-level skiers. The price does not include airfare, though direct flights are available to nearby Bozeman, Montana from Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Seattle. The offer runs from January 2-10 and March 29-April 13, 2008.
NEW HAMPSHIRE
Mount Washington Resort, located near Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, is offering a family-friendly Ski & Stay package from $99 per person per night. The deal allows kids and adults to ski for free on Friday nights. The package includes a standard motel room at the Lodge at Mount Washington, which features an indoor-heated pool and a family restaurant. It also includes free daily breakfast and free shuttle service to ski lifts. The mountain has four high-speed chairlifts. The package runs from December 28, 2007 to February 29, 2008.
UTAH
Southwest Airlines is offering great deals on flights from Boise or Denver to Salt Lake City and two nights at the Homestead Studio Suites Mid Valley hotel from $150 per person. It will cost you an additional $103 for a two-day lift ticket to any of four area ski resorts: Alta, Solitude, Snowbird, or Brighton. If you are looking to use some wheels while you’re in town, you’ll have to budget an additional $180 for a three-day car rental. The flight and lodging package is good now through January 29, 2008.
